Connectivity
Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are using Bluetooth 5.3 to connect to a paired device with a connectivity radius of up to 10 m.
Weight and size
The compact Carrying case has dimensions of 50.1 × 50.2 × 27.7 mm while being very light at 43.4 grams (the 2 buds and the charging case) or 5.5 grams per 1 bud.

Charging and battery
The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro can be charged via a new USB-C or wireless charger and will comfortably last playing music for around 5 hours with ANC on, or 8 hours if you turn the Active Noise Cancellation off. That’s a pretty solid battery life given the buds’ size and weight.
To get extra juice, you can use the charging case to recharge your buds on the go, which will give you up to 18 more hours of listening with ANC on, or long 29 hours with ANC off.
The Buds’ battery life can also be checked right off your mobile screen.
New design and better sound
Last year, Samsung surprised us with headphones capable of activating their noise cancellation by detecting whether we were talking or not. This year they improved their second model, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, in which they enhanced their hardware and design.
This new design has been created to avoid their rotation in your ear, which prevents them from falling off during workouts.

The sound now supports 24-bit Hi-Fi audio and the new Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC HiFi) allows music to be transferred without cuts.
Despite having a new 2-way coaxial speaker they are 15% smaller than their predecessors. Active noise cancellation is at an impressive 27 dB.
The Buds 2 Pro also got an improved water resistance at IPX7, which Samsung tested in lab conditions with submersion in up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, from previous IPX2 (water is sprayed at 15° angle or less). As Samsung stated, the Buds, are not suitable for beach use and should not be placed into the charging case while wet.
Better accessibility
Samsung also incorporated a very handy Simple pairing switch, allowing one-touch switching from TV audio to mobile audio, for example, to answer calls.
Price and availability
These headphones will be available in three colours, grey, white and purple, at a price of £219 in the UK, 229 euros in Europe or $229 in the US.
You can purchase them right away, although first orders will be despatched so customers would receive them by 26/08/2022, the same scenario as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4 and the brand’s new Galaxy Watch 5 Series watches.
So, Are Samsung Buds 2 Pro Worth it?
Compared with the standard Galaxy Buds 2, with the Pro version, you’ll get an extra half an hour of playtime with ANC off, where the playtime stays the same as Buds 2 if you like to use the ANC. The audio in Pro should be better due to the 24bit Hi-Fi sound. You’ll also get slightly improved ANC with 2 High SNR Microphones, and better water resistance, if that’s something you usually find to have issues with.
To give some points back, the standard Galaxy Buds 2 are 0.5g lighter and quite importantly, they are currently around £120 cheaper than the just introduced Pro model. As long as the promo with the free charging pad lasts (for pre-orders only), they’re not such a bad deal, however, it might be a bit hard to justify the extra price for some later on, for not really being that much different from the previous model.
