Motorola launched its first smartphone powered by the most recent Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 chipset called Motorola Edge S in China last month and there were many expectations to see the new Edge S coming to the global market in near future.

As it was speculated by many reputable servers, we might see the Edge S launching in the market outside China in other names. This could have just been revealed by Geekbench, a cross-platform benchmark, which listed a new smartphone called Moto G100 with very familiar specs.

The listing on Geekbench shows the phone managed to reach 957 points in the single-core department and 2,815 in the multi-core benchmark test.

The Moto G100 phone’s specs in listing correspond with specs of the recently introduced Edge S as “nio” motherboard stands here for Snapdragon 870 SoC chipset, previously associated with assumed new name Motorola Nio, which has never been introduced or talked about by the company. Among other details, we can see the chipset is complemented by 8GB RAM, same as in the Edge S launched in China. We can also see confirmation that the phone is running on Android 11.

The Motorola Moto G100 2021 will enter the 2021 G-series lineup as a flagship, even though it might be a little bit overshadowed by the recently introduced budget duo Moto G10 and Moto G30.

It is expected to see the Moto G100 soon in the way of either official launch or pre-launch leaks.
