In a sudden, surprising leak, the expected Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra has just seen in full on YouTube, shortly after the launch of the regular Mi 11 in Europe.

It is expected that Xiaomi will add a few more devices to the series: the Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra. While there have been few rumours here and there about the Pro and Ultra models, a Filipino YouTuber by the screen name Tech Buff PH has found a way to get on what seems to be the real Mi 11 Ultra and leaked the first in-hands video on YouTube.

Trust, but verify.

Although the leak’s authenticity can’t be fully verified, it seems to be convincing enough to be authentic. In the video, we can even spot the model number on the back of the phone: M2102K1G, matching a Xiaomi device that recently got certified by India’s BIS and the EU’s EEC Cryptographic Device Database. It has been confirmed by trusted Xiaomi tipster kacskrz that the in-development Xiaomi flagship code-named “star” will carry a model name ending in “K1”. This could mean that “K1G” may state the global variant of “star.”

There are also other details adding to the leak’s credibility, such as the continuation of the 120X zoom camera we saw in its predecessor, the Mi 10 Ultra, as well as the expected support of 67W wireless charging, which have previously been confirmed is in the works. The Mi 11 Ultra has appeared at multiple angles in the video with what looks like a real MIUI 12.5 Global build installed, confirming the credibility even more.

The extravagant camera bump

If the leak will be confirmed to be genuine, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will be set in a body with slightly rounded corners and most importantly, with an eye-catching massive bump with a powerful camera set and 1-inch display on the back. The camera set will feature 50MP main sensor as well as a 48MP wide-angle and 48MP periscopic telephoto zoom lens. On each of the colour variants shown in the video, we can spot a tech on the back, describing the camera as “120X Ultra Pixel AI Camera” on the white and “120X, 12-120mm, 1:1.95-4.1” on the black model.

Either way, it might be possible that Xiaomi has upgraded the Mi 11 periscopic zoom lens from the last year’s Mi 10 Ultra 5x optical to 10x optical to match or even exceed the optical specs on the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and it’s impressive 100x zoom.

There is no information about its small secondary screen on the back but its main purpose may be to be able to take selfies or videos with the back camera, for example by video bloggers.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Specs (alleged)

As for the other Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra’s specs, the leaker mentions that the phone has a 6.8-inch quad-curved OLED display at WQHD+ resolution with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate with a 20MP selfie camera in a punch-hole cutout at the top left side of the screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Mi 11 Ultra is to get IP68 rating resistance against dust and water. It will match the sound system of the recently released Mi 11 tuned by Harman, Kardon.

The performance of the Mi 11 Ultra will be taken care of by the currently most powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset. It will all be powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 67W fast wired, 67W fast wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

There have been no official statements even after the leak of the newest model, although the leaked video has been set to private, perhaps due to concerns of being sued by the company after the video literally boomed all over the internet within a couple of hours. There is a mirror of the video, available here:

There are currently no more details available but we will let you know as soon as any new information about the Mi 11 Ultra appear.
