With the SmartTag+, you are capable of tracking things up to 120m away. It also has an IP53 water adn dust resistance.

Can I use SmartTag+ with an iPhone or another Android device?

Unfortunately not, as the SmartTag and SmartTag+ is a product made by Samsung, exclusively for its Galaxy devices. The new SmartTag+ will also only work on devices featuring ultra-wideband (UWB) technology such as Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra or Galaxy Z Fold 2.

After bringing the SmartTag+ home, you can pair and control it with your smartphone using Samsung’s SmartThings app. You can locate the lost things via Samsung’s SmartThings Find service, which is available on its Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy tablets, Galaxy Watch or even its Buds.

SmartTag+ battery

The GalaxyTag+ uses a standard CR2032 battery, which is for example the same battery most bathroom scales use. The replaceable battery will last around 5 months compared to around 10 months in the previous SmartTag, mostly due to the more power-consuming UWB technology.

SmartTag+ remote control

The new SmartTag+ has also one more, useful feature. It has a programmable button, which you can use to remotely control your smart home, for example, to turn off/on light, socket, smart coffee maker etc.
