Bluetooth Codec Compatibility Checker
How to Use the Bluetooth Codec Compatibility Checker
Use this tool to check whether the same Bluetooth audio codec is supported by your phone and earbuds.
Step 1: Check your phone
Look at your phone’s specifications and find the Bluetooth audio codecs it supports, such as SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, or LC3.
Step 2: Check your earbuds
Check the specifications of your earbuds to see which Bluetooth codecs they support.
Step 3: Select the codecs
Choose the codec you want to check from the Phone Codec and Earbuds Codec dropdowns above.
Step 4: Check compatibility
Click Check Compatibility. The tool will tell you whether the selected codec is supported by both devices.
Example
If your phone supports LDAC and your earbuds support LDAC, the result will show:
✓ Compatible — LDAC
If your phone supports LDAC but your earbuds support AAC, the selected codecs do not match.
Important
A Bluetooth codec can be used only when both the phone and earbuds support it. Actual codec selection can also depend on the device, operating system, firmware, and connection conditions.
